My own test (Dennis Bryant):
I used the
3/8" sample that was returned to me by the touring Bass Pro/Guide, to try out for myself, at his insistence.
We set up a meeting, for 11am on Sunday, Aug. 27. We fished from his boat
at
South Bass Island in Lake Erie. We were to go for a one-hour maximum;
Small mouth outing; at the end of his first guide-trip of the day, and
before
his customers arrived for his afternoon trip at 1pm.
I set-up the LineDancer on a med.-light action 6.5' rod, using 1/4
oz 'rattle-trap', 1/8 oz. tube jig, & 1/8 oz. Pro-Style Spinnerbait. We
went
just outside of the 'boat harbor' at Put-In-Bay, to fish. (74 degree W.
T.,
1' waves, 18' water depth, heavy boat traffic.)
After the initial shock of the first retrieve outside of a test-tank; I
got
down to a more reasonable cadence, and began using the LineDancer to more
correctly work the lure being used.
I'd boated 3 fish on a 'mini rattle-trap', before he had brought his first
to
the boat. I switched to a tube-jig when he boated that first fish, and
then
caught 4 more fish before he boated his second fish. I switched lures
again,
when he caught that 2nd fish, and began throwing the small spinnerbait. (A
spinnerbait has been my 'go-to' lure choice for over 20 years) The action
that the LineDancer puts on a spinnerbait skirt without any angler
assistance
at all is incredible! It matched almost perfectly, the action that I
usually put on a spinnerbait myself, when I use a standard baitcasting
rod/reel combination.) I had only caught 1 additional fish before his
tube-jig caught his 3rd fish of our less than one-hour long outing. We then returned to the dock to pick up his clients for his afternoon
trip.
(Not one word was said
at all, on that short trip back.) He kept the sample LineDancer on his one rod; and said he planned to use it for an
inexperienced
angler that was coming for the afternoon trip.
I decided to wait around to find out how they'd do; so I visited with some
of my Walleye-charter clients, and the dock-master on the island; while they
went out.
I met the three of them for pictures on the dock when they returned (an
hour
and a half early) from their fishing trip. The LineDancer was responsible
for 10 of the 15 'keeper' fish (3 full limits) that they'd kept that
afternoon (28 total fish were caught by using the 'LineDancer' & 7
fish total
without it).
To make a long story, short; He kept the LineDancer; and now wants 4 or 5
more of the same size, to use for next season.
Now you can see why I didn't want to forget the details. The test reports
don't show all of what's included above. The 'little things'.
I'm totally sold on them! And, so are each and all of the other guys that evaluated them for me!
